It works by<g id=\"gid_0\"> detecting a hormone called hCG<\/g>, which begins to be produced after the fertilized egg attaches itself to the wall of the uterus, usually between six and 10 days after fertilization. First, hCG appears in the blood and, shortly afterwards, it can be found in the urine. It&#8217;s this hormone that the tests look for to give you the answer you&#8217;ve been waiting for.   <\/p><p><br>There are two main types:<\/p><p> <\/p><ul><li><strong>Urine test:<\/strong> can be done at home with a stick bought at the pharmacy. It&#8217;s quick and easy to use <\/li><li><strong>Blood test:<\/strong> carried out in a laboratory, this is more sensitive and lets you know not only if you&#8217;re pregnant, but also what stage of pregnancy you&#8217;re in.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-25ffecc exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"25ffecc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">When should I take a pregnancy test?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4c3a608 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4c3a608\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The ideal time to take a pregnancy test is from the first day of menstrual delay. Place the absorbent tip under the urine stream for a few seconds or dip it into a collected urine sample<br> 3. Put the cap back on and leave the stick on a flat surface<br> 4. Wait for the time indicated in the instructions (usually 1-3 minutes)<br> 5. The truth is, however, that <strong>home-made options are unreliable and have no scientific basis.<\/strong> Some methods, such as the home pregnancy test with saliva, vinegar, sugar or even the home pregnancy test with lemon, are just popular myths that have been circulating for generations. <\/p><p><br>These methods, often called &#8220;foolproof home pregnancy tests&#8221;, have no real power to detect the hCG hormone which, as explained above, is responsible for confirming a pregnancy.
